I have smoked since i was 18 im 25 now, i quit for a year even then i craved. I wanna stop for good.
The coincidence is uncanny.I went to a hypnotist when I was 25.Im now 34 and I still dont smoke.I was a chain smoker since I was 17.The trick is to realise that every day you dont smoke is worth celebrating.I have smoked on several occasions since i.e. when very drunk. but that never meant I was Back on Them.Just that I was drunk (there are people who never smoked and yet will have one when drinking.)If you dont smoke for 2 months and then have a cigarette it does’nt mean you are back on them,it just means you are a human being who is in the process of giving up.This is’nt bull****.Ive been off them 9 years now.Iknow what Im talking about.Good Luck Man…….although the hardest part was the first few nights out.
anyone had hypnosis to stop smoking?

I haven’t smoked for six months. The only thing that worked for me was buying the Allen Carr book. He brainwashes you into not wanting to smoke.
You can buy hypnotherapy CDs online. It’s a drug addiction and you need to get over it like any other drug. It’s hard work at first but worth it.

I am afraid controlled studies confirm it is no better than placebo. Get your GP to refer you to a smoking cessation clinic to improve your chances.

Hypnosis only works if you believe it will – I have a friend who had it work for them, but when I tried hypnosis (not for smoking though, I don’t smoke) – it didn’t do anything – probably because I didn’t believe it and thought it was just funny.
If you really want to quit, and nothing else has worked, then it’s worth a try – it certainly does work for some people. Have you tried other stop smoking aids? Maybe accupunture, or the relatively new laser therapy will help you?
